Context
Samuel Devantéry is a professional photographer and videographer based in Sierre, serving clients across Valais with services spanning architecture, portrait, concert, culinary, product, and event photography. His existing WordPress site had served him for years but had grown stale — it no longer reflected the quality of his visual output, lacked modern performance, and wasn't structured to compete in local search for high-intent queries like "photographe Valais" or "studio photo Sierre."
Challenge
The site needed a full migration from WordPress to Webflow without losing search rankings. Dozens of legacy URLs — blog posts, old shop pages, tag archives — all required clean redirects. The CMS had to support 10+ photography categories, each with its own portfolio, metadata, and structured data. An added wrinkle: Samuel's name is frequently misspelled ("Devanthéry"), so the SEO strategy had to capture both variants.
Solution
The site was rebuilt in Webflow with a modular CMS across all photography categories. Each service page got tailored French-language meta tags and JSON-LD structured data tied to a unified schema graph. A 74-row redirect CSV handled the WordPress migration. Bulk CMS updates — alt text, legends, typo fixes — were run via the Webflow API across hundreds of items. Custom GSAP animations powered the homepage: an infinite-scroll mosaic with pointer-driven panning, a sequenced bio text reveal. An llms.txt file was added for AEO readiness.
